Supporting local authorities
In today’s austerity, there isn’t enough social care available to those who need it. Government cutbacks and budget restraints have meant that a lot of agencies across the country have closed or withdrawn their services.
The SWEET project is able to fill this gap. It can benefit those who need support. We pick up child protection plans and children in need plans. We can support vulnerable adults who have no other forms of support.
We have increased our service delivery and are able to work with local councils to offer statutory tasks that students can undertake, such as single/family assessments and the provision of life story work.
